By Adam CollinsObviously there’s tons of hype around the Dallas Cowboys organization after a great 13-3 regular season last year led by Dak and Zeke. Can we follow it up in 2017? I believe we can. I’m going to say that we struggle a little bit in the regular season this year, but will do well in the Playoffs. My prediction is the Dallas Cowboys will go 11-5 this season, barely winning the NFC East division over the NY Giants (I also predict we will split games with the Giants in 2017) and receiving yet another first round bye in the Playoffs. I predict that we will take a step in the right direction and win our first game of the Playoffs but then lose the second. I know I know, a lot of people are saying Super Bowl or bust this year but I believe that winning a game in the Playoffs is certainly a step in the right direction. I believe that we will have to wait 2 more years until we reclaim the Lombardi trophy for our 6th Super Bowl. You heard it here first, the Dallas Cowboys will be Super Bowl 53 Champs. Now hey, I hope I’m wrong and we can climb all the way to the top of the mountain this season!
Our defense should be better this year, even though we lost many veterans. The problem is we’re so young and inexperienced so it could take some time for the defense to click. Also, it will be very exciting if Jaylon Smith can see the field this season alongside Sean Lee at linebacker. By the time the Playoffs roll around, we should have it all figured out on that side of the ball. As for offense, I’m anticipating another great season. I’m really looking forward to seeing how we’re going to use our newest weapon, WR Ryan Switzer. His speedy, shifty skills could inflict a lot of trouble on opposing defenses. I predict that Dez Bryant will stay healthy for the entire season and be our leading receiver with 88 receptions, 1,386 yards, and 15 TD’s. He’s going to put his name right back to the top this season where it belongs. As for Dak, I see a little bit of a sophomore slump numbers wise, but I believe he will still produce and have a great season on the field. I predict Dak Prescott’s numbers to be 3,258 passing yards, 65.6% Comp%, 8 interceptions, and 25 total TD’s (rushing and passing). Again, still great numbers, just a slight decline from last year. My prediction for Ezekiel Elliott is that he will have an even more explosive season this year. Last year, Zeke’s first couple games were shaky and he didn’t play the last game. If it weren’t for this, he could’ve had a chance at 2,000 yards. Well I’m going to say it. In 2017, Ezekiel Elliott will rush for 2,021 yards, 5.4 YPC, and 18 TD’s. Yes this is bold, but I believe Zeke will silence the haters extra hard this season. As for my game by game predictions, you will have to stay tuned because I will be predicting the outcome of each 2017 Dallas Cowboys game in a future article.
