After a whirlwind start to the season and exchanging wins for losses the Dallas Cowboys find themselves in striking distance at 3-3. While that mark has the team sitting in 2nd place in the division the Cowboys seemingly found their roots in a 40-10 drumming over the 49ers. The run game found its stride with Ezekiel Elliott setting his season bests in yards 147 and touchdowns. The offensive line found their groove as Elliott scampered for 5.7yds a carry. Dak Prescott has been nothing short of sensational after a admittedly humbling experience in DEN. Prescott finished the night with 234yds with 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions, in the Cowboys quarterbacks last 3 games he has 9 TD to just 2 INT. The team is clicking on all cylinders and will need to keep up the momentum when they take on the Washington Redskins.
The Redskins will be playing on a short week after they lost to division rival the Philadelphia Eagles. Josh Norman Redskins CB returns to practice this wk after suffering some fractured ribs and looks to matchup with Cowboys WR Dez Bryant in what has become a huge rivalry in the NFL. Last season the two had to be restrained from fighting after chippy play and words were exchanged. As this season progresses the Cowboys will play elite level teams including the Falcons, Chiefs, and division leader Eagles. In order to make a playoff run games are becoming more and more important. The Cowboys rattled off 11 straight victories last season behind a big offensive line and Ezekiel Elliotts ability to move the chains, its not over yet, not by a long shot.
How good was it to see the linebackers all available in what feels like forever. For all the praise Jaylon Smith has received let's be frank, he is a liability in coverage. In my opinion it probably stems from his knee injury from college and being a year removed from the game but he jumps off the screen and can play. Anthony Hitchens patrols his area and Sean Lee can be argued as the most game changing player in football. Just watch the tape of our defense with and without #50 in the lineup, night and day. With Hitchens, Lee, Smith and defensive linemen Irving and Lawrence alongside rookie standout Jourdan Lewis and 2nd year hawk Byron Jones if they are able to stay healthy, they are surely clicking in all phases. Til next time #CowboysNation
