Fresh off a Hall Of Fame game victory that saw the Dallas Cowboys defeat the Arizona Cardinals 20-18 some quick hits stood out.
Firstly, who is Cooper Rush what a stud he ended up looking like throwing a touchdown to match Kellen Moore who had 2 absolute lasers to Brice Butler and TE Rico Gathers, the latter of which was for a td.
The run game was there as Alfred Morris ripped a couple of runs and seemlessly sent a ARI defender promptly in the spin cycle. But the standout RB in my opinion had to be Rod Smith not to be upstaged by the hype of his brother Jaylon, #45 had a very solid outing.
Lastly, the Cowboys defense was virtually non existent vs Blaine Gabbert who torched Dallas for big 3rd down conversions and hit open recievers almost at will. Granted Gabbert was a starting qb as recently as last season the Cowboys starting defense gave up 2 touchdows in as many drives. I will look at tape to further examine but not 1 defensive player stood out and that is alarming. Chidobe Awuize almost jumped in front of a pass that most likely ends in a touchdown but not quite.
All in all it's the Hall of Fame game, the unofficial start to preseason no need to get worked up either way. Alot of good was on the field just the part people knew were suspect did nothing to quell suspicions. Plenty of time and work to put in before next week preseason game and until then enjoy this weekend the rich tradition and alumni of the previously enshrined and those to be, as this weekend the halls take one of Dallas' own. The Boss. Jerry Jones, congratulations you will forever be synonymous with greatness. Til next time #CowboysNation.
