Sean Lee has had probably the worst luck a professional athlete could have with two torn ACL’s and multiple concussions. Even with all the injuries, every time Sean played, we would see glimpses of greatness. Luckily this season, we finally got to see the great Sean Lee in action for 15 games and he looked great.
Sean Lee is the quarterback of our defense and there’s nothing scarier than a healthy Sean Lee. This season, Lee had a total of 145 tackles (93 solo, 52 assists) and one fumble recovery. Whether you’re a Cowboys fan or not, if you watched the Cowboys at all this year would’ve seen that Lee is in on almost every play. Whether it’s breaking up a pass or picking up the running back, it just seems like Sean is always in the middle of every tackle.
The Cowboys defense is certainly missing some key pieces, but with Sean Lee leading the way I see our defense improving a lot. A healthy Sean Lee and adding a healthy Jaylon Smith next year is going to be really scary for opposing offenses. The Cowboys had the #1 rush defense this year, only allowing 1336 yards rushing, and a major reason for that is Sean Lee. Lee was finally healthy and showed us everything we knew he was this year. I am really looking forward to watching Sean Lee pick up right where he left off this year and continue to lead this young Cowboys defense next season.
