By Adam CollinsDallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott and undrafted rookie QB Cooper Rush continue to turn heads this preseason. In the last night’s preseason game against the Oakland Raiders, the two QB’s led the ‘Boys to a 24-20 victory! Dak Prescott played the entire first half and continued his early preseason success. Prescott finished 11/14 with 113 yards, a TD, and a passer rating of 124.1. It may only be preseason, but Dak seems to still be silencing all the haters who say that he will have a sophomore slump. His numbers should’ve been even better too because he had several lengthy passes call back due to holding and hands to the face. Overall, Dak seems even more poised in the pocket and is making very smart and accurate passes. His sole TD pass was to none other than Jason Witten who was a popular target of Prescott’s last night. Witten would finish with 6 receptions for 74 yards and a TD. Surprisingly, Cooper Rush had even better numbers than Dak last night. Now that is against the second team, but it’s still very impressive. In my opinion, Rush solidified the backup QB spot for the Cowboys last night. In just under 2 quarters of play, Rush finished 12/13 for 115 yards, 2 TD’s, and a passer rating of 143.1. He continues to turn heads and makes me more confident in our backup QB every game I watch him play. Watching all this success in the preseason is really causing me to look forward to what is to come in 2017. The Cowboys are now 3-1 in the preseason and quarterback play is looking sharper than ever.
