After a much needed statement win vs the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys are on a much well deserved bye week, Time to get the walking wounded healthy and ready to go for the Giants on Nov 4. With that been said, here are a few potential trade options, the Cowboys could make to bolster a defense that has been riddled with injuries.
The Cowboys have been getting stellar performances from Jeff Heath this season, but he is not a starter in my estimation, he is more of a safety as a backup, and still misses tackles some time to time. Xavier Woods came up with a huge interception on sunday. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come as the second half of the season unfolds.
Jamal Adams for a first round pick:
Although the Cowboys have late bloomer Donovan Wilson this trade would be a huge trade to bolster their secondary as Adams is a game changer.
Atlanta Falcons Pass Rusher Victor Beasely:
The Falcons are trading away their top players, as Mohammed Sanu was dealt to the Patriots last night and Victor Beasely would fit nicely with DemarcusLawrence, Robert Quinn, and Kerry Hyder on the edge. With Quinn who went out of Sunday's game with Rib issues they might be short handed.
He hasn’t come close to realizing his high-sack mark from 2016 when he notched 15.5 QB takedowns, but there is definitely talent and it’s becoming less likely the club gets Randy Gregory back from suspension this year which doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon.
Arizona Cardinals Cornerback Patrick Peterson:
The Cardinals have said they have no desire of trading a potential Hall of fame selection, but Peterson and the Cardinals have had their issues in the past. Although the Cardinals are hovering around the .500 level this season dont' expect this to last, so trading Peterson makes alot of sense.
The Cowboys have two corners who can play in Pro Bowler Byron Jones and little-used slot man Jourdan Lewis. Awuzie is constantly being targeted because he doesn’t look for the ball very often.
Acquiring Peterson is the type of move the old Cowboys would make. It’s the type of move the team who acquired Amari Cooper would make.
