With the NFL Draft fastly approaching, the Dallas Cowboys, a team that finished 13-3, 1st in the NFC, led by a dynamic duo rookie threat that rolled off 11 straight ultimately to..the rest is history. The team needs to find improvements on the suspect defense. Sure losing another playoff game to the often referred to Baaaad Man is noble, but again the window is open. The rookie tandem Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott is the core led by all pro TE Jason Witten, ball snatcher extraordinaire Dez Bryant, and the leagues best OL.

Here's why this draft tonight is beneficial, consider this. The same Dallas Cowboys team that won those games last season had considerable questions on defense. The DL couldn't seem to find the "get off" needed to secure games in crucial moments. See the above game vs Rodgers. Our lead sack man tallied 6 for the season. The Cowboys have the 28th overall pick and while defensive line sounds automatic, the offseason happened.

Losing four bonafide starters in Carr to Baltimore, Claiborne to the J-E-T-S, Wilcox to Tampa Bay and former captain of the defense Barry Church, to coincidentally, my son's favorite team JAX. Easily addressing this skill position in this year's draft needs to be prioritized. The 2017 draft has a plethora of DB's that DAL should take a stab at. Kevin King, Adoree Jackson, Budda Baker are names that could be circulating around the draft board. Jerry Jones, the godfather of all things Cowboys, expressed interest this offseason on getting a "War Daddy" pass rusher.  Lo and behold this draft class is full of them, Takkarist Mckinley, Taco Charlton, TJ Watt, Derek Barnett are prominent names to be familiarized with as they could be the piece missing from an offense ready to win now.

Speaking of the offense, perhaps a WR is a solid look. Again loaded is the position this yr out of the NCAA. Is Williams a true #1 if Dez goes down, again?  Since signing his extension, Dez has not performed at the caliber of an elite WR mainly due to injuries. The numbers are there, take a look, I'll wait. Just look at how Janoris Jack Rabbit Jenkins blanketed him two games vs division rival NYG. One could argue we aren't that pass 1st modern day NFL team, we are meat and bones, in your face,  up the gut and that's why Dez numbers aren't there. Since we are so dominant in the run than why does Dez have six 100yd games in 3yrs....that's for another time, another blog...stay tuned.
